Sounds Aloud
“The impact in the children’s learning has been great to see, for example one child went up 4 colour book bands in his reading over the academic year….
…. particularly engaging for those children with a preferred auditory and visual process of learning
The programme runs across a whole year with each half term focussing on a particular vowel sound which has given the children the opportunity to explore the depth and the breadth of that particular vowel sound”

What is Sounds Aloud?
Sounds Aloud is an intervention specifically designed to support children still struggling with the challenges of phonics. Children are given opportunities to identify, read, copy, write and explore new words using the same sounds in a unique approach using music to support phonetic development. This project offers a fun, multisensory approach to interactions with sounds and words through repeated practise and a range of musical themes. Being involved in a small collaborative group also strengthens their social skills and empathy with others facing similar challenges.
Who is it for?
Year 3 (adaptable for Year 4)
What does HMS provide?

How long does it last?
One academic year, five half terms contact time with groups (starting after October half-term)
How much does it cost?
£1,875 for 5 x half terms of delivery
