Why choose Hampshire Music Service?

🎵 At Hampshire Music Service (HMS), we are passionate about providing all children and young people in Hampshire with the highest-quality music education. Our mission is to develop their musical skills and knowledge and to enable progression into further learning and exciting opportunities.

🎵 HMS is committed to working closely with schools and colleges to provide a comprehensive Music Education Service, including a wide range of additional music-making opportunities that reach well beyond the end of the school day.

🎵 Our work is strengthened by our collaborative partnerships with musical organisations within the Hampshire Music Education Hub, where Hampshire Music Service is the Lead Partner.

🎵 We believe in the transformative power of music to enrich lives, increase creativity, and build strong relationships. Our comprehensive range of provisions is designed to engage and empower all children and young people, enabling them to excel both musically and in their own personal development.

With a team of highly qualified and passionate music educators, we bring exceptional expertise to your school. Our teachers are dedicated to developing skills and knowledge, nurturing a lifelong love for music.

We run a range of collaborative projects alongside Hub Partners and other musical organisations, offering a wide range of additional music-making opportunities that continue well beyond the school day.

We regularly monitor, develop, and improve our service, valuing feedback from schools, parents and partners. All Hampshire Music Service staff engage in regular up-to-date training and performance reviews.

We are committed to making music education accessible to all students. Our inclusive approach ensures that every child, regardless of background or ability, has the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of music.

The range and quality of our music provision is in line with national developments and policies, including the National Plan for Music Education.

We track and assess progress of learning, providing an annual school-based report on each instrumental/vocal pupil, and teachers engage in regular assessments within class settings.

Music education is proven to boost academic performance, enhance social skills, and promote emotional well-being. Our provision is designed to support the holistic development of students, helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

We have a long track record of working effectively with Hampshire schools for over 60 years.

Alongside our Lead Schools, we provide a vast amount of CPD to schools, establishing relationships, and providing ongoing support and sharing our wide array of free resources.
